I have researched the best places for eye tests an it follows
Tesco’s do a free eye test but the equipment is fairly basic and they tend to use mainly locum opticians but they are free so you are bound to just get the basics.
Specsavers always have good levels of equipment and they normally have sight test offers in the local papers in the big stores eye tests can be rushed.
Independents tend to be ok they take the time an eye test needs but don’t tend to have much in the way of equipment in most cases to give the best sight test.
Vision express tend to have very good levels of equipment for the sight test but boy do they charge for it eye tests tend to cost £25 plus
Boots /D&A mixed bag here mainly old outdated equipment and optometrists to do the sight test, starting to equip the stores with Fundus camera’s but again they charge a lot but the do discount the eye test on their websites and send out offers.
So in conclusion for the best test at the best price on balance Specsavers but don’t let them rush you prob don’t go to the big city stores.Remember Guys You are paying for something that is about your eyes but most importantly the health of your eyes so if you don’t understand what they are saying ask.
